Elizabeth is from the Loma ethnic group in Guinea Conakry. She is presently living in N’zerekore with her five (5) children. She was married to Jean Pivi Zoumanigui who was also from the same ethnic group. He was a high school teacher by profession in N’zerekore.
In early 2019, Elizabeth’s husband, Jean Pivi felt sick and was rushed to Hospital for medical attention. After the medical check-up he was diagnosed HIV Positive and he was introduced to HIV antivirus treatment immediately because he has reached to the last progression of the sickness whereby the chief cell (CD4) that control the whole immune system in the body has been undermined and there was no control for other minor sicknesses. And finally he died of AIDS at the , precedent year on April 17, 2020 and left his wife Elizabeth with the five children who are all girls. And after sometime, she went to Hospital for HIV test and she was tested positive. She is living with the sickness up till now. Now she took her five children to the Hospital for HIV test out of fear that some of them might have been infected and fortunately for her, all the children were tested negative. The late husband’s family even wanted to claim what she and her late husband acquired before he died, turned their back to her and the children. They care not to help her and her five (5) children, all girls. She is the alpha and the omega, that she is the bread winner for the family. When she got in contact with ASFED through one of her friend who introduced her to the organization, she explained her story with tears and said “who will take care of these children for me in terms of education, feeding and clothing. And what will be the out come of their future? And if something happens to me because of my status as a PLHIV”, She lamented.
She sells roosted cassava and sometimes banana to sustain herself and her children.
So ASFED is appealing to anybody who will read this story of this widow and come to her aid and her children.
